Bangor's Chess Congress is a Rapidplay competition; a 6 Round Swiss Tournament with 30 minutes on the clock completed in a single day.
Since 2003 the Congress has been dedicated to our club co-founder Mr. Eddie Webb who lent his name to the trophy awarded to the Congress winner. By a curious twist of fate, on the very day his cup was first played for on the 20 th September 2003, Eddie died after a long illness. We remember Eddie with affection as a great club man, a redoubtable opponent, and most importantly, as a friend.
