24th Congress

The 24th Bangor Chess Congress, Saturday 24th September 2005

Bangor's Chess Congress is a Rapidplay competition; a 6 Round Swiss Tournament with 30 minutes on the clock completed in a single day.

The Congress is traditionally held in late September, not long before the regular League Season begins.  Because of this timing, it is often the first time local Chess players meet together since the previous years league season ended in May, and of course a good opportunity to get back into competitive chess. Still, the Congress is as much a social occassion as a competitive chess event.
