Bangor Chess Congress

Bangor Chess Club bagan holding their Chess Rapidplay Congress back in 1972. Since then, while the format has generally remained the same, the venue has not. The Congress has always enjoyed the support of Ulster Chess players and continues to an important event in the Ulster Chess Calendar and a great start to each year's playing season.

Tournament Format: Bangor's Chess Congress is a Rapidplay competition; a 6 Round Swiss Tournament with 30 minutes on the clock completed in a single day.
2004: 23rd Bangor Chess Congress 2004, Groomsport. Winner Michael Waters.
2003: 22nd Bangor Chess Congress 2003, Groomsport. Winner Tom Clark
